Michigan Medical Marijuana and Driving

A few weeks ago, I posted multiple blogs about Michigan Medical Marijuana and the privacy provisions that go along with it. The federal government is trying to access personal information by invading the privacy of residents who currently have a medical marijuana card and were told their information was confidential. Attorney General Bill Schuette won't fight for the privacy rights of the citizens in his own state. So when Bill announced this week that he is backing an effort to convict a marijuana user of impaired driving in Traverse City, you can imagine the response he got.
I've visited multiple local websites with either blog posts or news stories with comments. The response is definitely anger towards Bill as expected, yet the medical marijuana community usually posts informative and insightful comments. Many have taken it upon themselves and have started to write the Attorney General himself. Who would've known this is what the MMMP would come to in 2011.
I truly believe the residents in Michigan are getting sick and tired of being jerked around. They're told that medical marijuana is legal with the card and your information is confidential. Well it turns out many cities and local areas are passing ordinances to ban the medical program and have succeeded. Dozen's of arrests have taken place since the inception of the law that 62% of Michigan voters passed, and now their medical records are in jeopardy of being turned over to the police.
