Outlaw pitbulls in Michigan?
A bill has been introduced that could potentially ban owning pitbills in Michigan. Timothy Bledso (R) introduced the bill and it would ban owning American pit bull terriers, Staffordshire bull terriers, and American Stafforshire bull terriers. Not only will the bill not allow these breeds, but you can't have a mixed breed either.
Specifics of the Pitbull Bill in Michigan
- 1 year after the passing of the law there will be no breeding of the three aformentioned breeds.
- 4 years after the passing of the law it will be illegal to own any of the three breeds that haven't been sterilized.
- 10 years after the passing of the law it will be illegal to own any of the breeds altogether.
- All 3 three conditions include any mixes of the 3 breeds

This bill is certain to raise debate among MIchigan residents and I will keep you updated with any updates regarding this legislation.
