Jackson Man is facing animal cruelty charges after his dog killed a young racoon.

A 23 year old Jackson man by the name of Seth Foster is facing animal cruelty charges after his dog attacked and killed a raccoon in his garage. Grizz, the blue heeler dog, killed the racoon in the family garage with his two children present. Seth is also owner of a local nuisance animal control business. According to Seth, his garage was a mess and he sent in Grizz to check it out.

I honestly think that this case should be thrown out. This story has produced some controversy over the issue, but I feel like nothing Seth did was wrong. He felt something or someone was in his garage so he sent in his dog to patrol. I have a feeling I and most of my neighbors would do the exact same thing. Once the dog finds a raccoon in an enclosed space, its just normal reaction and dna. That dog is going to kill the raccoon or die trying. There's nothing wrong with this fact, its nature. I know we like to think of our pets as well mannered children, but they are a WILD animal. Even if Seth wanted to stop Grizz from attacking the raccoon, what are his options? Should he try to take away the dog and risk injury to himself from the raccoon and his own dog?
