Michigan Medical Marijuana Raids in Michigan.

I was reading up on local Michigan Medical Marijuana news and came across an alarming article in the Free Press about " Almost 2 dozen being arraigned in Oakland County" that have affiliations with three different Medical Marijuana dispensaries. Apparantly 10 people were arraigned on various conspiracy and drug felony charges Wednesday evening. According to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard, "the cases will force into the open a wide range of abuses of the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act." The defendants who were charged plead not guilty and said they were complying with the law. Dispensaries are under close scrutiny in the State of Michigan and other states such as California recently. State and Federal laws seem to conflict and its a guess as how the courts will treat the dispensaries. As always there are two sides to the story. Bouchard claims that these employees were selling marijuana to customers who did not have a valid Michigan medical marijuana card that shows approval to use medicanal marijuana, and drug deals “outside the Ferndale dispensary" were being carried out. Defense attorney Paul Tylenda claims that "This was a business that was fully approved by the city and the local police." These cases will force the courts to make a ruling regarding these dispensaries and these decisions will have a major impact on the legal environment in Michigan regarding the Medical Marijuana laws. Stay tuned, I will be following these cases closely and keep you updated on the ruling and what effect they will have on Michigan law. Call marijuana attorney David M.
